Across the borders of countries, through the tracts of natural beauty and in the constructions of man, the world reveals itself. As I’ve travelled I’ve seen the marks of human history, experienced the varieties of our cultures and marvelled at the landscapes that have been organically created.

Without realising it, I had visited many of the sites that UNESCO, the cultural arm of the United Nations, has declared to be world heritage sites. Now, as I continue my journey, I have made it a mission to visit as many as possible – perhaps even all of them one day.

There are a lot but this isn’t a race. This isn’t a goal just to be ticked off a checklist. This will be a framework to see some of the most significant places on our planet.
