TRAVEL STORIES ABOUT URUGUAY

Taking it from a per capita perspective, Uruguay is the wealthiest country in South America. While it doesn’t have the natural resources of some of its neighbours, it has a strong and stable economy. This means travelling through the country can be more expensive than the rest of the continent.

However, it is easy to safely get around the highlights of Uruguay and see what the country offers. The beautiful beaches along the coastline are a popular holiday destination but it’s possible to find quieter ones further towards the Brazilian border. Inland, there are wonderful natural and rural offerings.

The capital Montevideo is a bustling city while Colonia del Sacramento is a small and charming city that’s been included on the World Heritage List.
